RECOLLECTION - COMMEMORATION - REFLECTION

Neighbours. Yesterday. Here.

- a project to commemorate fellow citizens who suffered from injustice and persecution during the years 1933 to 1945.

Beginning in 2026 we bring the Stolpersteine memorial artwork created by Gunter Demnich to Genthin. We commemorate the victims of National Socialism, who were deprived of their fundamental rights, persecuted, expelled and murdered.

Suddenly respected fellow citizens became Nazi victims, with their names lost for decades.

It happened here, in Genthin and the Jerichow Il district.

More than 100.000 stumbling stones have already been laid all across Europe.

We dedicate the first stumbling stones in Genthin to the 30 Jewish citizens who suffered from antisemitism and persecution. Some of them were only children.

Now is the time to bring their names back into the community.

The project will be realized over several years and our research is continuously documented, including online.

The Stolpersteine initiative is funded completely by donations.

One Stolperstein costs 120 €, with additional costs for the laying and documentation. If funding is sufficient we plan to support other local projects in remembrance of the victims of Nazi dictatorship.

We kindly ask you to show your support and donate for Stolpersteine in Genthin.

Your donation, big or small, will help us create a memorial dedicated to our former neighbours, who became innocent victims of persecution.

Thank you!
